To become a poll worker, one must first join either the
Republican or Democratic Town Committees to be eligible. Upon
obtaining membership, lists of poll workers are submitted to the Board of
Selectman for approval. Only when those lists
submitted by Town Committees are exhausted may registered voters from the
community at large serve as an election officer.
As a registered voter in the Town of Bridgewater you can
serve your community and assist your Town as an Officer of
Election.
Positions include:
Responsibilities include:
Issuing ballots to voters;
Checking voters in & out
of polls;
Tallying number of voters
checked.
Compensation for service as an Officer of Election
is $85.00 for the day. You will work at the Town's polling location at the
Bridgewater-Raynham High School - 166 Mount Prospect Street, Bridgewater.
All officers of election report to the polls at
6:45 a.m. and remain to the close of the polls at 8:30 p.m. or until all
numbers are tallied.
