Services |
Medical Services:

Blood pressure and weight check with Carol Poudrier, RN
9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on the first Monday of the month.
No appointment necessary.

Glucose screening with Doreen Zeller, RN
9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on the third Wednesday of every month.
No appointment necessary.

Hearing tests and Hearing aid checks with Tricia Wilbur
on the last Monday of the month.
You must call 508-697-0929 to make an appointment.

Podiatrist Sarah Derosier is at the Senior Center
approximately every 8-weeks.

Fuel Assistance:
Transportation:
-
Dial-A-Bat Services are available to seniors age 65 and
older and anyone who is disabled. The service travels to locations in
Bridgewater, Abington, Avon, Brockton, East Bridgewater, West Bridgewater,
Whitman and Stoughton and to selected Boston hospitals. The cost of a
trip in Bridgewater is $1.50 each way, $3.00 each way to other towns and
$5.00 each way to Boston. A trip to Boston must be booked two days in
advance before noon and by noon the day before for other trips. Call

Council on Aging van is available to transport seniors to
the Senior Center for the weekday congregate lunches and special events.
Nutrition:
-
Congregate lunches are served Monday through Friday at
noon.
The $2.00 donation for lunch is collected when reservations are made.
Call 508-697-0929 to make reservations by noon on the previous Wednesday.

Meals-on-Wheels are delivered Monday through Friday to
homebound seniors.

Outreach:
-
The Outreach department assists seniors in many ways,
including Pharmacy and Insurance programs, emergency assistance, referral
to other agencies and assistance with federal and state programs.

Volunteer coordination including:
-
Transportation and occasional ride to a doctor’s
appointment or treatments.
-
Friendly visits or phone calls to elders who are
isolated or need interaction.
-
Home repair and maintenance including minor carpentry
and painting.
-
Friends group, a newly formed organization to help
fundraise for elders’ emergency needs.
-
Errands, including grocery shopping, pharmacy runs.
-
Yard work including snow shoveling, raking and hedge
trimming.

Meals-on-Wheels delivery.

Other Programs and Services:

TRIAD (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) which
aims for public safety for seniors. A cooperative effort of the Office of
Elder Affairs, Bridgewater Police Department and Plymouth County Sheriff’s
Department.

Are you OK? A free program which features a daily
reassurance call from the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department to make
sure the senior is OK.
Weekly
programs including aerobics, chair aerobics, painters I and II, line
dancing, craft makers, quilting and creative writing. Call for information. |
