Memorial Day Observances

    Memorial Day 2005  - Monday, May 30, 2005

8:00 a.m.      Cemeteries Salute

There will be a Color Guard, rifle salute and taps at the Veterans Memorials at four cemeteries prior to the parade.

Everyone is welcome to attend the brief ceremonies that will begin at Mount Prospect Cemetery at 8:00 a.m. followed by visits to Center Street Cemetery, St. Thomas Cemetery and concluding at the Old Town Cemetery on Summer Street at the college.

10:00 a.m.     Parade

The Parade will begin from Stetson Street, turning right onto Broad Street (Rte. 18 South).  The parade will continue to the War Memorial at the Town Common where there will be a laying of a wreath, and readings of the Gettysburg Address, General Logan's General Order #11, and a reading of Flanders Field.  There will be a rifle salute to Deceased Veterans followed by the playing of Taps.

  You are cordially invited to the Bridgewater Vets Club on Cottage Street  
for a collation to be held immediately after.
