Boards and Commissions (Appointed Positions Only)

  • Parkland Stewardship Council is currently looking for Lead Stewards for the following parks: Titicut and Wyman Meadows.  These are volunteer positions to oversee the parks.  Please contact lkeane@bridgewaterma.org if interested.
     

  • The Town of Bridgewater is seeking volunteers to fill vacancies on the Conservation Commission (Member and Associate Member), Capital Planning Committee, Housing Partnership (2 Citizens), Elm Street Long Range Planning Committee (Business Representative), Historical Commission (Associate Member), Master Plan Implementation Committee, Lead Parkland Steward for Wyman Meadows, Titicut, and Carver’s Pond, Wage & Personnel Board (Designee to be appointed by Advisory Board), Senior Center - Board of Trustees, Taunton River Stewardship Council, Self Help – Board of Directors and Zoning Board of Appeals.

    In addition, we are seeking individuals to serve on two new committees created in association with the voluntary contribution elections on our local tax bills and the resulting funds: Scholarship Fund and Educational Fund Committee (4 or more citizens) and the Taxation Aid Committee (3 Citizens).

    All interested individuals are requested to send a letter of interest c/o The Selectmen’s Office, Memorial Building, 25 South Street, Bridgewater, MA 02324 or by e-mail to lsullivan@bridgewaterma.org.

Town Department & Community Opportunities

Meals On Wheels Drivers Desperately Needed

The delivery of meals to seniors takes from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Drivers can work alone or as a team of driver and runner. The drivers pick up meals at the Bridgewater Senior Center, 10 Wally Krueger Way, between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and deliver them to a specific list of recipients in Bridgewater. There is a small stipend for mileage. Drivers can drive on a daily basis, or an on-call, emergency basis.

Please call 508-697-0929 and ask to speak to Director of Elder Affairs Lorraine Carrozza or email LCarrozza@Bridgewaterma.org as soon as possible if you want to deliver meals to the town's seniors.

Are you interested in sharing your skills and talents?  The Town has openings in various departments for individuals who have time to volunteer in a town department.  Please send an email to hr@bridgewaterma.org with a brief description of your area of interest.

The following departments have a current need and could benefit from your experience:

  • Elder Affairs - various opportunities including providing transportation services, elder companions, yard/maintenance work

  • Highway Department - Handyman/Maintenance

  • Police Department - Data Entry (SAVE Volunteer Only)
